Tribute to those on board the ARA General Belgrano who gave their lives for Argentine sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands

39 years after the sinking of the cruiser ARA General Belgrano, the Government and the Argentine people pay tribute to the 323 men who led down their lives fighting with dignity, heroism and patriotism for the recovery of the effective exercise of Argentine sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands.

Throughout our country we remember the sailors who were part of that crew and fell on May 2, 1982 when the ARA General Belgrano was sunk by a British submarine outside the exclusion zone established by the British during the war conflict.

We will always carry in our memory and in our hearts those who had the honor of defending the homeland and we will continue to accompany their families. We reiterate the permanent commitment to continue fighting to keep their memory alive and not give up until the Argentine flag rises again in the Islands.
