The Argentine Republic celebrates the "Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation" (FEALAC) Day, on the 20th anniversary of its creation.

FEALAC is an informal multilateral cooperation forum established in 1999 with the aim of promoting political and economic dialogue and bi-regional cooperation to achieve more effective, beneficial and close relations between Latin America and East Asia in trade, investment, tourism, science and technology, among others.

It is the only Forum that comprises practically all countries from both regions, and its members represent 40% of the world's population, 35,5% of the global economy and 33% of the trade, so it has the potential to become a space for dialogue to address the new challenges on the global agenda.

Argentina, which has been a member of the Forum since its creation and is currently Co-Chair of the Working Group on Trade, Investment, Tourism and SMEs along with Korea, actively participates by incorporating matters of bi-regional significance into projects. This includes trade facilitation for vegetable-origin products, creative industries, and the exchange of good practices in culture, tourism and sustainable development among cities from both regions.

On the occasion of the first celebration of the FEALAC Day on its 20th anniversary, Argentina renews its commitment to the Forum with a view to establishing, together with Latin America, closer ties with the countries from the Asia-Pacific region in order to benefit our peoples.
