A Software Trade Mission, organized by the Argentine Foreign Ministry and the Argentine Embassy in Peru, was sent to Lima on 5 and 6 September

The initiative gathered 15 companies of that sector, which had a busy agenda during the mission, including 150 B2B meetings. The activities were aimed at establishing and strengthening links with Peruvian counterparts, including IT managers and other relevant players in the local technological ecosystem.

On the first day, the agenda included presentations by the Argentine Chamber of the Software Industry (CESSI), the Peruvian Software Association (APESOFT) and the Institute for Economy and Business Development of the Chamber of Commerce of Lima (CCL). In addition, a panel presented success stories of collaboration between Argentine and Peruvian companies. The event also featured a networking section, with the attendance of the Argentine Ambassador to Peru, Samuel Ortiz Basualdo.

The knowledge-based economy is one of the fastest growing and most dynamic industries, at both national and global level. In 2023, the Knowledge-Based Services (KBSs) sector was the 4th top exporting industry in Argentina, as its exports totalled USD 8 billion, accounting for 9% of Argentina’s total exports. Argentina is the second largest KBSs exporter in Latin America, behind Brazil, and the 38th largest exporter worldwide.
