Webinar: Economic relations between Brazil and Argentina. Fostering cooperation for development

The international seminar on economic relations between Brazil and Argentina: Fostering cooperation for development, organised by Brazil’s Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA) and the Embassy of Argentina in Brazil, was held on 27 October.

 

The opening session was attended by the President of IPEA, Carlos von Doellinger; Daniel Scioli, Argentine ambassador in Brazil; Cecilia Todesca Bocco, Secretary for International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina; Flávio Rocha, Special Secretary for Strategic Affairs of the Presidency of Brazil; Pedro Miguel da Costa e Silva, Secretary for Bilateral and Regional Negotiations in the Americas, Itamaraty, and the Director of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Carlos Henrique Fialho Mussi.

The second session, called “Brazil-Argentina bilateral economic integration: rebuilding bridges”, was coordinated by Ivan Oliveira, Director of International Studies (DINTE/IPEA) and the presentations were delivered by Pedro Silva Barros, Coordinator of Regional Integration Projects at IPEA and Enrique Hurtado, Director of the Centre for International Economy (CEI) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina.
