Reflecting the priority assigned by the Argentine Republic to South-South Cooperation, the eastern region of Asia has strategic importance as a space where Argentina's cooperation projects have historically been carried out.  Argentina is currently carrying out 8 technical cooperation projects with member countries of the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC): Australia, China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. In addition, there are two projects under planning with Mongolia and Singapore, which mostly refer to agri-industry.

All projects are funded by the Argentine Fund for South-South and Triangular Cooperation (FO.AR in the Spanish acronym), which is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2017 and constitutes a flexible and efficient tool to meet cooperation demands and make Argentine technical capacity available to member countries.

In the context of the FEALAC meeting held today in Korea, the Argentine delegation made a presentation on two projects aimed at strengthening cooperation bonds in different areas and topics.

One of the projects is a joint initiative with Australia aimed at improving the development and operation of an Electronic Phytosanitary Certification tool (e-Phyto), which is part of the "Experience Sharing in Electronic Phytosanitary Certification Systems" Project funded by FO.AR.

In addition, the Argentine delegation presented the Seminar on Creative Industries in Digital Convergence to be held in Buenos Aires in 2018, which is aimed at East Asian countries in the context of our country's candidacy to host the International Specialized Expo 2023.
