Today, Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie and the Minister of Culture of the Argentine Republic, Pablo Avelluto, met at the Casa Creativa del Sur with the Argentine authors and artists who will participate as from next week in the Bogotá International Book Fair (FILBO 2018), at which Argentina will be a Guest of Honour.

Minister Faurie underscored "Argentina's commitment to ideas and thinking" and noted that its participation in the fair "is a privilege and offers an opportunity to demonstrate our creative capacity."  The Minister also highlighted the "major importance" of this cultural event –which also serves as a trade promotion tool– "for our country's image, not only in terms writing and literature, but also as promoted by the authors, poets and musicians who will attend the event. This places value on Argentina for which its people are known."

The Foreign Minister also highlighted the quality of the delegation of Argentine artists who will participate in the Bogotá International Book Fair and stated that "the cultural products we are taking to Colombia are ideal to foster its relations and trade with Argentina."

The Foreign Minister noted that culture and sports promote peace and the integration of peoples, and commended "Argentina's participation in the fair under the slogan 'Argentine Literature Steps onto the Field', which combines literature and football, a sport that all Argentines are passionate about. This will place Argentina in a highly favourable position in Colombia."
