In the first day of her official visit to Japan, Foreign Minister Susana Malcorra carried out an intense agenda of activities, including a meeting with the Japanese Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Hiroshi Moriyama, and a meeting between the Argentine delegation and the senior management of Mistubishi Corporation.
Malcorra also participated in an open conversation held at the headquarters of the United Nations University (UNU), in Tokyo, on the Future Challenges for the United Nations. She was received there by the Director of the UNU Centre for Policy Research, Sebastian Von Einsiedel, and addressed ambassadors from different countries and the general public.
Tomorrow, the Argentine Foreign Minister will meet with her Japanese counterpart, Fumio Kishida, and authorities from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the House of Representatives.
Finally, Malcorra will lead the celebrations of Argentina's Bicentennial of National Independence, organized by the Argentine Embassy in Japan, in the presence of authorities of the Japanese Government and diplomatic corps, entrepreneurs, businesspersons and representatives of Japanese art and culture.
The goal of Malcorra's mission is to strengthen bilateral relations and intensify political, economic, trade and investment ties with the world's third largest economy.
