A new Mission of the Argentine Dairy Sector to the Federative Republic of Brazil, which comprised representatives of the cheese, powdered milk, whey and dulce de leche production subsectors, has come to an end.
Coordinated by the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Agroindustry, the firms concerned participated in sectoral forums and held over 140 business meetings with their Brazilian counterparts in São Paulo, Recife and Belo Horizonte.
Sources from the Foreign Ministry stated that, in order to boost growth and internationalization among Argentine dairy companies, a dairy internationalization roundtable began to be held together with the Ministry of Agroindustry several months ago at the Palacio San Martin, which featured broad participation by the private sector. Various markets and trade intelligence studies were jointly analyzed and a schedule of activities was prepared. Those activities have begun to be carried out in different countries.
In the case of Brazil, the dairy companies requested to visit various States in order to establish sales and distribution channels other than the traditional ones and, to that end, they worked together with the Argentine Embassy in Brasilia and the Consulates in São Paulo, Recife and Belo Horizonte.
When asked about the mission, the participating business persons agreed on the high level of the meetings held and the professionalism of the team work carried out by the Argentine government.
They also highlighted that, as a result of the mission, talks have been initiated with major importing firms interested in cheese, milk, whey and dulce de leche, such as Pão de Açúcar, Espabra, Allfo, Ricex, Rede Brasil, Napolitano, Rede São Paulo, Carrefour, Tenda, Angeoni, Vigor; Makro, Usina, Map Food, and Maquinox (of São Paulo); Brasmundi, G & D Comercial, Genesis Imp., Norcomex, Wallmart, KarneKeijo, Agemar, Jaguar Trading, Formagio, and Rede Noreste (of Recife) and Comercial Azevedo, Supermercado ABC, Supernoso, Nova Safra, Salvioli, CIA Aduaneira, Supertrade and Sincovaga (of Belo Horizonte).
