The Argentine Government welcomes the intention of the Venezuelan Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD), expressed today, to attend the first national meeting for dialogue called by facilitators, beginning on 12 July.
In addition, Argentina reiterates its satisfaction with the efforts and renewed work carried out by former presidents José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero from Spain, Leonel Fernández from the Dominican Republic, and Martín Torrijos from Panama, in the search for conditions that enable effective political dialogue between the Government and the opposition in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
At this time of profound concern for the Venezuelan people, Argentina calls on the parties to undertake the necessary efforts to prevent any attitude that may jeopardize this stage of reconciliation.
The Argentine Government reiterates its disposition to cooperate or accompany this and any other constructive initiative for effective dialogue that promotes political stability, economic and social recovery, the observance of the Constitution, and respect for Human Rights in Venezuela.
