This paper analyses the exportable supply of Argentine agri-food complexes, with a special focus on the provincial distribution of exports.
Based on the latest global and national statistics, this study examines Argentina's agri-food export supply, with special attention to its market positioning relative to the major global exporters and its level of competitiveness. The analysis is structured according to Indec's definition of “Export Complexes”.
While the first, second and third parts of this work analysed the export agri-food supply of Argentina as a global powerhouse in strategic sectors, this fourth edition deepens the analysis of the country’s 28 food and beverage complexes. It highlights the provincial distribution of exports by linking foreign trade with regional economies, identifying the leading exporting provinces for each of the groups studied.
To characterise the exportable supply of each complex, the main exported products are described and the relative position of the country in international markets is determined. Likewise, this study incorporates the revealed comparative advantage (RCA) analysis, a key tool for understanding the specific competitiveness of each product in the global context.
