This report explores the trade and consumption perspectives of the olive oil market, both as a cooking ingredient and for use in cosmetics.
To this aim, the current situation of the global olive oil market and its future projections are analysed, the main producing, exporting and importing countries are detailed, and consumption trends and preferences examined. At the same time, Argentina’s role as a producer and exporter is studied and those markets with which our country has trade complementarity are identified, with a view to a greater diversification of export destinations. Finally, a summary is provided on the supply of by-products from the olive industry as ingredients for the natural cosmetics sector.
This document adds to the series of sector studies prepared by the Centre for International Economy.
